....school project....

...today i found some funghi...

...not in the usual places...

(i.e all over the house)...

...wooden, felty, 

crochet(thank you miss daisy)....

....or just hangin' around...

...i love 'em all...

...no these ones were outside...

....and spotted whilst walking the dog...

...i thought they looked so amazing

i'd take pictures....

.....and as i was snapping...

...and admiring them...

i thought it would be the sort of thing

you would do a school project about...

...research them...

...sketch them...

...design a fabric...

...write a little poem about them...

...i got quite carried away in my imagination...

...oh the mushroomy possibilities!!!

...i was far too young to go to school

 when i did....

...i'd be SO much more interested and

enthused now....

....what homework would you choose tonight?

kokeshi cuties.....

...i have had it in mind

for quite some time...

..that i'd like to try and make

my own japanese style

kokeshi art dolls...

..i love the simplicity of their

sweet faces...

....just a few painted dots or lines..

ko-ko' kokeshi available in my etsy shop

...and then their very simple

body shapes decorated with

florals and stripes...

...well i just so happened to be

in my lovely local craft emporium

butterfly bright....

...when i spied some fabulous

felted beads in all sorts

of amazing colours....

...i immediately knew their destiny...

..and snaffled a few into my basket...

...only to rush home...

....and set to work....

(i love this bit...putting fabrics,colours

 and lace together...looking for inspiration)

....this is my work in progress...

she's nearly there....

...just a few little extra tweaks needed...

...i am so close to having a little

bundle of them complete...

...back soon with the finished dolls!

...stitching in front of 'downton' tonight methinks...

p.s. small claim to fame that in my former life

i played the wife of the gorgeous new love interest

 'michael gregson' in a musical!

 (many moons ago ...he he ..secret squirrel???!) 

p.p.s gosh and i just remembered.....jude law was our son!!!

.....reasons to be cheerful.....

...despite spring only lasting
 for a day here...

...i have lots of lovely reasons to be cheerful...

...these lapin and me cuties are half price in

 urban outfitters..

..i have admired them from afar for a while...

...so couldn't resist a bargain

(currently residing in my daughters room pretending they are hers!)

...then a lovely little parcel arrived from

samantha stas

..i love everything she makes 

and treated myself to this lavender bag

 and little button card dollies....

..as if that wasn't exciting enough...

i won the giveaway at 

clover clogg likes to blog!

thank you hesta i love my new yarn bag...

....and i very rarely win anything...

...but i did also win a big cuddly black cat

in one of those 'grabber' games

 in the arcade last week...

....now that IS lucky!

look at this amazing fabric...

...sadly not won in a prize...

 but a new wardrobe investment for the summer from the label'nice things'....

come on summer....let's just skip spring...

....oh hang on....

..better finish off easter first...

...i found LEFTOVERS!!!!!
