....a little jaunt......

..yesterday we went on a little jaunt en famille....

....only 35 minutes down the road is lovely 
kilver court designer village

... i say 'en famille' rather loosely

because the children were not keen to go....

...lots of designer shops...

whats not to like?

(pip studio!)

...for some reason

(and despite proper training and all)

my children have yet to learn the love of getting a bargain

or of just seeing lovely things.....

....and that's what this post was about really...

...because although i did have a jolly good mooch

for bargains......

(cute little orla kiely foxy bag for example!)

...i just really enjoyed being in such a lovely place...

...these buildings were all part of the old 'mulberry' offices

....and you can see the influences everywhere....

...gorgeous paint effects on the walls....

....so although i couldn't quite afford

to buy all the fabulous clothes and bags and shoes

i rather fancied .....

...it was just lovely being there....

...feeling a little bit inspired...

....and enjoying a nice cup of something tasty!

....but don't feel too sorry for me....

because the reason i didn't have many pennies

was because I have been saving them for the

vintage at the village hall

in blandford tomorrow!!!!!

....can't wait...

oh and i promise to show and tell!

.....donna wilson love.......

...i have such a soft spot for anything

donna wilson....

...i just love the colours and design....

....my heart just skips a beat if i spot it in a shop...

...i know i can always get a fix in my favourite shops

ruby rockcake and zeitgeist

...i was really spoilt by my squirrel husband at christmas...

....who (despite not really being 'his thing')

treated me to lots of lovely 'dw' goodness...

....this gorgeous pillow and a caterpillar scarf...

....and some of her china that i'm slowly trying to collect....

...imagine my excitement when her online shop

announced its first ever sample sale!

..i set an alarm on my phone so i'd be first in the queue.....

....silly me......

..the site had so many hits

it crashed!

.... of course i persisted and eventually bought me this adorable robin cushion....

....i love it!

.....fluffy chicks......

....it was the fabric that inspired me....

...a lovely scrap of fluffy pastel yellow mohair...

...that just screamed 'chicks' to me....

....thinking i was going to make lots of them...

...i cut out 6 pairs of vintage quilty little wings....

....and 6 little smiley felty beaks....

.....i was quite a long way down the creative process

before i realised i had made them so big....

......i only had enough fabric for 3!!!!!

doh!

....but actually now i think they are better for being bigger....

.....sometimes these things happen for a reason...

.....and you just have to go with the flow!

....i was actually meant to be 'lambing' this week....

.....so i blame the sunshine for hatching these chicks first....

....friends reunited.......

...after much searching....

...and many failed ebay bids....

...today i found myself a vintage sindy doll!

...i discovered her in one of my regular squirrel haunts.....

....somebody must've cleared out their collection

because she was there with a big bundle of sindy sisters......

....so i even had a choice.....

i opted for one with all her limbs intact, big hair, sweet face...

....but sadly no pants!

....she's a cutie though and brings back 

lots of childhood memories...

...all i need now is a 'pippa' and an 'amanda-jane baby' doll...

(oh and some sindy underwear!)

....my little etsy shop has been very busy....

...but i have been replenishing my stock

with lots of cute bits and pieces ....

...so do keep an eye open....

...just in case there's an old friend
