...i don't know why i love you......

...but i do...
...you have no real purpose...
...or function in my life..
...but somehow i feel i need you....

...it may be that i foresee a future
for us together at some later date...
....or that you just always seem to
bring a smile to my face....
...maybe i'm just too sentimental...
...and nostalgic...
....but once i have found you...
...i just can't leave you behind...
...these are a few 'keepers' that
i have rescued recently....
....none of them costing more than
a few pennies.....
...but i have just had to have them!
...anyone else have this problem?
X

  3. From what I have seen most of us lady bloggers have the same problem. Treasures we cant resist which are going for a song! I buy things and then end up having to have periodic clear outs to the charity shops.

  4. I have no such problem...then she laughed and she laughed. The funny thing is we are suppose to be down sizing next year. I run an orphanage for abandoned cruets and a kitsch corner of sadness should you ever need me but don't mention the flying ducks.xx

  5. Yes, I have this problem. I'm glad I'm not alone. I love all of these items, especially the Easter egg. I have a couple of old ones like that, passed down through my husband's family, and I have always liked them.

  6. I think we all have tendencies to this, it is just that some of us give in more than others. Earlier this year I "rescued" a piggy money box from my parents "to go" box, just because I needed it!

    1. Oh good rescuing! When I got married I returned home to my parents to rescue all my boxes of old toys that had been stored in the loft.......only to find the mice had got to them first! I was devastated( but think my new husband was quietly relieved...... He's got used to it now!).

  7. How could you not love all these little sweeties? I find I'm a sucker for very tiny treasures, and they don't take up too much space, leaving room for more... Chrissie x

  9. Me Me Me Me Me!!!! I have this same problem! And you don't even know how much you have helped me tonight! Seriously! I had a stern talking with myself (after last night's Halloween decorating) about NOT buying any more stuff! And then I went right out today to the thrift store...where by the way I found a wonderful piece of pottery and a vintage snowman. But why can't I stop???? I was feeling terribly guilty tonight, so it helps so much to know that I am not the only one who suffers from this condition!
The egg is fabulous and the faces of those little boys are too cute! You always find things with a certain squirrely charm!
    Thank you my friend!

  10. Oh Erica- never change....... Our guilt can be outweighed by the joy of rescuing beautiful ( in our eyes!) things that would otherwise have been neglected or gone to unhappy homes for lives of misery. I love all your amazing collections and a vintage snowman is NEVER to be ignored! X
