...economy drive.....

...we are all aware of the current
economic climate..
...and everybody is feeling the pinch....
....none more so than the
 vanilla squirrel herself....

...who is about to embark on a new phase
in her life...

..requiring her to put all her homespun,
thrifty, nut saving skills to the fore...

...but i think i may have misinterpreted
the idea behind the homespun/d.i.y ethic
 of quilting...

...because in my quest for a truly crafty
economy-driven homespun heaven.....

...i BOUGHT this!!!!
(cute though eh?)

oh well...i'll be better next month...

...and keep away from etsy....
...so i don't see lovely things like this...
....for those of you who have not recently
indulged in vintage quilts...
you can wisely invest in one of these
darling pastel buns
...or treat yourself to one of these
from the divine

HEEEEEEEELP!!!somebody lock me up....
i think i'd better hibernate!

  1. Oh dear, you are in a fix. As my husband says (whenever I walk through the door with MORE thrift store finds) ... "the first step is admitting you have a problem". He never has said what the next step is, but I think it's just more retail therapy ;) Your quilt is delightful and I wouldn't feel bad about buying it at all - enjoy it! Wendy

  4. The quilt is seriously great! I love the shades of periwinkle and corals!
We are in the exact same boat. I'm trying to sell things, to make money that I so desperatly need. So what do I do? I go out to the thrifts, and come home with more bags of STUFF! Some to sell, but always some to keep!
I'm pretty sure that if I did the math, it wouldn't equal a profit!
So...I will not be doing the math! Haaa!

    1. Hate maths too- best not to think about it too much! I look at it as funding my passions......not even sure if it does that either! Fun though! He he best wishes for a happy weekend x

  5. Think of your spending as an aid to kick start the economy. Really your doing the country a favour. Your helping the whole country!! I'll keep it in mind tomorrow, as I've got the day off and intend to go shopping!! Sarah

  6. Don't call it shopping - call it 'heirloom gathering'. Heirloom gathering is a very important and worthy task and therefore should not induce guilt...
