basket case.......!

..we all love a good basket....
...I know because i've spotted some beauties on your blogs..
...i love the different patterns in the weave...
...the shapes and colours....
...but i realised today something else that i love about them...
..it's what you can find inside!
...you can dig out some really scruffy ones....
but like oysters hiding pearls
...you can often discover immaculate satiny insides
lovingly maintained and cherished
...i found this little beauty today...
...very pretty but a bit grubby on the outside....
...but just look inside...it's addictive!
....uh oh....running out of space!

  1. The last one is exactly the same as one I got a couple of years ago. It was full of all sorts of treasures and I am still using it.

  8. I inherited an old square weaved sewing basket and tin from my elderly neighbour when she died last year... the basket was full of old cotton reels and the tin full of buttons/huge press studs! It is lovely to have them both here... Cx

  17. Hi there, thanks so much for visiting and following my blog, I’ve just followed back. I knew I was going to enjoy your blog as soon as I saw the lovely name. I’ve only looked at three of your newest posts (so far), but I love them all. Barbara marchhousebookscom.blogspot.co.uk/

  18. What a lovely collection! I'm still searching for one like in the first photo to keep active knitting in by the side of my chair when watching TV, no luck so far. The sewing baskets remind me of one I had when young, can remember the satin inside but not what the outside was like. Lucky you. x
